“This book was just the definition of a romance. Benedict was the prince charming of every girls dream. I loved him. This book also had the humor that I love from Julia Quinn, one of those moments being on pg.181. Its just too funny and cute.”

For the earl, he declared Sophia Maria Beckitt as his "ward". But while everyone never mentioned a word about the circumstances of Sophie's birth, she knew in her heart who the man she referred to as "my lord" really was. Yet she kept quiet. Then when she was ten, the earl finally married and Sophie was joyous abut the news thinking that she will finally have a mother and sisters. But from the moment the new countess laid eyes on Sophie, she hated her like a plague. And so begun a life of misery for sweet Sophie, which would worsen four years later when the earl died. Relegated to a servant, the countess made sure that every minute of Sophie's life would be spent in servitude. And when the other servants decide to play fairy godmothers and helped Sophie attend the Bridgerton masquerade ball, she would find herself out on the street pining for the prince charming that she could never have.
As the oldest unmarried Bridgerton, Benedict is used to his mother's constant matchmaking, which is something he expects to endure in the upcoming masquerade ball. But never in his wildest dream did he expect to meet the very woman who would touch his soul. And as he eagerly waits for the clock to strike midnight so he could finally unmask his mystery lady, he finds himself all alone after she runs from him, leaving only her glove in his hand. For months he searched for her, not knowing what happened. Then they finally cross paths once more. But while Sophie immediately recognizes the man whom she had fallen in love with, Benedict doesn't know that the servant he has saved is the very same woman who has haunted his dreams since that fateful night.
AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN is the third book in the Bridgerton Series, and definitely a fantastic addition. I loved both Sophie and Benedict, every moment they're together was absolutely magic. The first time they met was such a pleasure to read, that I was actually dreading for the clock to strike midnight because I didn't want them to part. You will adore Sophie for her quiet calm, dignity and pride. She's the type of heroine you would cheer for. As for Benedict, what can I say except he's a Bridgerton male to the bone - gorgeous, dreamy and oh so sexy; of course, let's not forget noble, loyal and fiercely protective of those he loves.
With its lovable characters, perfect narrative and delightful story, AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN is a wonderful take on a classic fairytale. Julia Quinn has once again produced a winner. I can't get enough of the Bridgertons and now looking forward to reading Colin's story (ROMANCING MISTER BRIDGERTON). ”
“i totally agree on the "Cinderella" concept .. it had the same feel to it but i felt that Quinn pushed it to a new level with a much more mature storyline and interesting twists .. i myself am i fan of cinderella rewrites so i definatly loved this book
the charecter Benedict didnt really attract me as a charecter in the other books and i didnt feel his charecter at all but i felt that he really stood out in this one and it showed what kind of man he is ”
“I absolutely loved this story. It had a 'Cinderella' feel which probably made me like it even more!”

I didn't love Benedict as much as the characters in the previous books, but it was a fresh and jolly novel, fast-moving and sweet. I read this updated version of Cinderlla in one two-hour sitting. Delightful.”

Yes, it is like the fairytale Cinderella but is far more detailed and has a great plot. The characters are also so real. I loved the way Benedict would chase after and tease Sophie. It reminded me of the typical flirtations that go on in the beginning of every real life relationship. Benedict and Sophie are such dynamic characters, that the reader knows it will only be a matter of time before the sparks fly.

“I don't get it. I like all the other Bridgerton books other than the last one, where the author surgically removed the heroine's spine, but I just couldn't get into this one. I'm not sure why. Maybe because the heroine was more desperate? Or that Benedict wasn't all that exciting? I don't know. It just didn't work for me.”

I was thinking "Oh just another Cinderella story." I did not realize at the time that this was part of decent sized series about the Bridgertons. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the story. It was alot of fun and yes Benedict made me fall in love. It has me wanting to read all of the other titles in this series, maybe I will start from the beginning. I want to see what else Lady Whistledown has wrote. This "character" really piqued my interest. Great book and a must read by any JQ lovers!”
