  “I actually only made it through the first 4 or five of these stories. What was the point of them? It felt like the plot just got going and then the author just dropped it. A waste of time.”

  “A collection of short stories about African Americans in Washington DC. Each story is distinctly different and I wish there was a whole book for each story. His characters are memorable and engaging. I also appreciate that there are no tidy endings.”

  “Amazing details, beautiful construction. Words just seduce you into the world inhabited by characters in the stories. A new world opens up as you read the stories.”
