This is one of the most well written books on computer science ever! The essence is the simplicity. The best part is that each pattern is started with an example, then how programmers generally code the solution, why it can be wrong, and how a DP will make life simpler. Awesome book!

I'm a computer science student and still wondering if I should buy/read this book or the classical one by the Gang of Four. The Head First Series appear to me as if it is for the beginner and not really serious for a computer science student. The downside of the classical one by GoF is that it is almost 15 years old, which is often not very appealing for a computer book.
