Loved the story concept, villians taking over the world but after awhile its not as interesting. Maybe because I used to there always being heroes around the stop the bad guys, I don't know. Conquering the world is not all that exciting when there is no there to stop you. This is a breath of fresh air from the typical comic book story. I will be checking out his new series Kick-Ass

I've read the comicbook AFTER I saw the movie, and although I liked the movie on first showing, I'm now aghast at how poor an adaptation it turned out to be. This comicbook is ultra-violent, morally bankrupt, nihilistic and grim. In other words, it was an amazing read.

Maybe a little too dark for me? Interesting, definitely kept the reader engaged and repulsed, but certainly not a grapic novel you put down and feel great about.

Starts out strong and Fight Club like. Does nothing with its best ideas and ends in a failed attempt to invoke Fight Club once again.

What hath "Watchmen" wrought? More superhero revisionism! Give it points for not backing away from its unremitting darkness.

This is a comic that starts off very much like Fight Club with superpowers. An everyday cubicle jockey finds out that the dad he never knew was a supervillian and is invited to continue his legacy by joining the fraternity. He looks around at his boring, sucky life and decides, "Yeah, what the hell? I'd rather kill some people."

It's a dark yet fun read, turning the superhero genre on its head. I wish the book had stayed more with the initial punch of the first chapter than the gangfight it turned into toward the middle, but it's still a very enjoyable read.
