Simon Brett's character, Charles Paris, is an actor who also has a talent for figuring out who did it when someone gets murdered.

In Murder Unprompted, Charles has landed an acting role in a play that may actually make it to London after being previewed in a small town theater. The play was written by a school teacher who had a hit-or-miss technique for getting someone to look at his finished product. When the play was eventually produced, the cast consisted of mostly unknown...
