Goodkind's language is trite, his characters devoid of realism, and his attempts at evoking emotion labored. This is no wordsmith, just a guy with too much time on his hands and too many words in his head.

I have to admit that this is not the type of book that I will pick out of the shelf of a book store. The coaxing of a family member got me to read this book . I am glad I did. I found it funny, exciting and adventurous.
