Jennsen and her mother had been running away her whole life. Jennsen has always been living in fear that she would be captured and tortured to death by an evil man. One day when a D'Haran solider fell to his death, she realizes that those who seek to harm her are coming close. A mysterious man Sebastian shows up, helps her hide this body so more soldiers will not come question he. When he becomes ill she decides to help him out. That's when everything changes. Sebastian tells Jennsen about what has been happening in the world while she had been hiding away that there is a new Lord Rahl he seeks her out to destroy her as well.
