“Heroine is a teacher in small-town mid-America (Kentucky, I think). Hero is a big city, New Yawk-talking just-moved-into-town guy the heroine's nutty landlady thinks is a mobster. I think I have to be in the right mood for Bevarly, because this one just seemed way too over the top for me. Just too silly. It's light and breezy and full of Bevarly's typical deep POV voice, which sometimes I really get a kick out of. But this one just hit me wrong, I guess. Okay read.”
