rather slow paced for a welcome back to the Belgariad series, but still very good.

I didn't like this series as well as the first. It's got all of the same flaws, but moreso.

Yes I liked this book because it was hard to put down. My favorite part of the book is when Garion deals with his first assination attempt. Yes I would recommend this book to my peers because it is like all the other books.

I had read the book before this one a few years back and enjoyed it greatly. It has very interesting characters an races in it. The author is a international best seller and I can see why. His writings are flawless and timeless. It is great book to read but you may want to read it in order to get the full benefit from it. I read the last one and this one and did get most of the good stuff from it. So it is possible to do that also.

The Saga continues. I just can't get enough of a good thing here. Garion is all grown up. New characters are introduced and the Prophecy continues to plague our hero.

A highly recommended read, if you are into the fantasy genre.

I feel like I'm part of the family of characters now, ready to embark on their new adventures with them.

A perfect beggining to the best seris I have ever read.
I loved both the Mallorean and the Belgariad frtom beggining to end but this one is definativly my faverite. I love all the domestic things that he describes before starting the quest. I perfect book. I recommend it to ALL!

The first book of a great series. I think I'm drawn to smart-alecky characters, and this book is full of them. Great dialogue. A good read.
