Fascinating idea - longevity.

parts of the book are plodding, other parts are quite entertaining.

While I liked that Heinlein had a progressive mindset in this book, I found it to be not at all to my taste. Perhaps it was the incestuous affairs that just discolored it too much for me, but it was not something that I enjoyed.

I love Heinlein, but this was a bit of a slog to get through, pretty much about his unconventional views on sex, etc.

Interesting, strange, and sometimes disturbing, the life and times of Lzarus Long.

Loved the time travel, time going simultaneously, loved favorite characters from his other novels showing up, beautifully written and crafted.

Lazarus Long is exactly how I imagine Heinlein. I think I actually formed this opinion of him long before I ever read a LL book.
My first exposure to Heinlein was in Oakland or Berkeley. I was trying to buy some Warhammer 40k trash and the store owner MADE me buy Starship Troopers along with my pathetic demons-n-lasers stuff.
Point being that I get a visceral thrill from having my own built up preseumptions proven true, even if in fictional form.

A provocative, stunning masterpiece from the grandmaster of scifi himself. A rarity concerning morality, emotion, and love that challenges everything that today's society imposes on us and forces the reader to see the universe in a whole new light. An absolute must for anyone who reads!
