The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping Beauty)

by A. N. Roquelaure, Anne Rice

Rice writing as A. N. Roquelaure.

In the traditional folk tale "Sleeping Beauty," the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire. (read review)

Wow!! Like nothing I've read before. Definately not for the shy. I almost feel ashamed to have enjoyed it. Not my sort of thing but I could'nt stop reading. Definately breaks up the monotony. VERY MUCH AN ADULT BOOK!!!

I am a fan of erotica and even BDSM to some extent, which I think is what Anne Rice was trying to showcase. I will tell you straight out, that it is not for everyone. For me, there were some nice elements, but overall I found it to fairly dull and extremely repetitive. The premise is this: a young Sleeping beauty awakes only to lose her virginity to the handsome Prince (we wont even talk about how young she is or how it is pretty much rape which actually coincides with the fairy tale...

I read second one first... it has to be difficult to balance strong sex with enough story to justify it!

I think that this erotica twist on “Sleeping Beauty” is pretty good. I really enjoyed the first ½-3/4 of the book and then yes it started to repeat and drag a little but then in the end it left you hanging with enough curiosity to want to read the next on in the series. I can’t say I didn’t kind of expect what happened to her, to happen to her. The hint was there so I was not taken by surprise when it did. I liked the book over all; I just wish the ending wasn’t so PREDICTABLE. Good Erotica Read Over All……

What a twist on “Sleeping Beauty”. This book does not even start off slow and soft. It is hard core from the get go. Saying it is an Erotica is putting it mildly. Strong BDSM so be prepared. I have only got through the first ½ of the first book and so far so good. I have read so of the other reviews and seen so did not like the book in the end I hope I do not fall into this group when I reach the end. So far all I can say is WOW!!! I think I would like me one of those slaves…..
