• James Adams: The main character who has a habit of getting into trouble. Recruited into CHERUB by his later to become best friend, Kyle Blueman. He is going through basic training with his partner Kerry Chang.
• Lauren Adams: James' half sister. She is the daughter of Ron Onions.
• Kyle Blueman: One of James' friends at CHERUB who recruited him from Nebraska House.
• Kerry Chang: James' Training partner for the 100 day basic training. She agreed to help James during basic training if he helps protect her knee, which was broken during her first attempt at basic training.
• Amy Collins: James' Swimming instructor and CHERUB agent, whom James fancies even though she is so much older than him.
• Ewart Asker: James's first official mission controller. Mid twenties with a bit of an attitude (apparently). Married to Zara Asker
• Joanna: James meets her while on his first mission and has his first snog with her.
• Meryl Spencer: James' handler at CHERUB. An ex Kenyan Olympian sprinter. She has a very big build.
• Vince: A thug that gets James into trouble. He wears a metallica t-shirt.
• Mr. Large: The main instructor in CHERUB basic training, Mr Large has a bossy nature, and he thoroughly enjoys seeing people in pain and enjoys making life hard for the trainees going through basic training.
• Uncle Ron: James' step-dad, who is drunk most of the time and steals money. Even though he is Lauren's dad, both she and James hate him.
• Glayds Dunn: Lives in Fort Harmony and wrote a novel about when they hid from the police underground in tunnels. Earned lots of money.
• Joshua Dunn: Gladys's son
• Sebastian Dunn: A ten year old who is harsh and hard, due to live at Fort Harmony. Is scared of the dark. He and clark are very sadisitic.
• Clark Dunn: Sebastian's older brother that looks after him. He and Sebastian are very sadistic.
• Cathy Dunn: A woman who scrapes a living in Fort Harmony. Snitches to the police when times get especially rough to earn extra money.
• Fire + World Dunn: Suspicious people from Fort Harmony.
• Scargill: Fire and World's 17 year old younger brother.
• Bruce Norris: A friend of James who can be a bit immature at times. He is very thin with a slight build but is still a black belt in karate.
