Single Dad by Jennifer Greene
Silhouette Desire # 931 - June 1995
Man of the Month series

His kids were enchanted with her. And that worried single dad, Josh Penoyer. Ariel owns a quirky shop in town and Josh's six year old daughter, Patrice aka Killer, has discovered it's charm as well as Ariel's. Killer was devastated when her Mom had walked out of their lives, and sees in Ariel a new Mom. Ariel loves kids, but after witnessing her own mother move from one relationship to another, she's vowed to remain single and to never put a child through what she had to endure growing up. But Josh and Ariel have a dilemma. Killer is so eager to get them together she keeps swiping things from Ariel's store forcing Josh to have to return them. And the more time he spends with Ariel the more her charms warm his heart. Only can he weaken Ariel's resolve not to become attached?

This is my first book by Jennifer Greene. What a delightfully fun read! Killer is adorable. The chaos that she causes in Josh and Ariel's life is hilarious to read. There were many laugh-out-loud moments. Though neither is looking for a relationship, their romance developes very nicely with an immediate but wary attraction. I really enjoyed their journey!

Single Dad won the 1995 RITA award in the Short Contemporary category.
Couldn't put it down!

Jennifer Greene's "Single Dad" was extremely well written. It's about a single dad with three kids, and recently divorced. His youngest daughter, "Killer", comes up with a scheme of stealing things from a woman's, Ariel, antique store, just so her dad can keep having to meet her. I couldn't put this book down, and I'm not a big fan on romance. I kept imagining Josh, the single dad, and his big melting chocolate colored eyes gazing into Ariel's. Both aren't looking for marriage, but find too much magic..
