An absolute requirement for anyone who is a fan of the Aubrey-Maturin series. Historically accurate recipes, with references to where in the books they are mentioned. Ever wonder what you are eating if you have Drowned Baby for dessert? Buy the book and find out!

A tie-in cookbook with the Aubrey/Maturin series of Napoleonic War naval novels.

The intrepid authors recreated recipes for the foods mentioned in the books, from period recipe books where possible, so it's got some interesting details on the research.

They report that "Millers", more generally known as rats, are surprisingly delicious: like rabbit but with a more delicate texture. Don't think I'll be trying that myself anytime soon.
