This book has some good information and breathing/relaxation techniques...but its so poorly organized you really have to dig for it. I read this with curiosity and some skepticism, but was pleasantly surprised. I would classify this less in the hypnosis realm, and more in the meditation realm. I was happy to find that some of her techniques are what I instinctively used in labor - deep breathing, meditation, visualization - especially deep-breathing my child down instead of forced pushing. I enjoyed the read.

A couple that I am working with is taking a HypnoBirthing childbirth education class, so I wanted to be better versed on this method. I see HypnoBirthing as focusing on the natural process of labor and reinforcing deep relaxation, fear release and breathing. HypnoBirthing does not teach medical hypnosis, so I feel like the title is misleading. I was expecting more direction and methods of hypnosis for birthing. It is still a good book/class that reinforces natural childbirth and aims to help woman and babies to have a calm, positive birthing experience.
