“John Hersey is one of my favorite writers. I think we all were forced to read "A Bell for Adano" in school, but it really was for our own good. "The Wall" is terrifying in its honesty in portraying life in a WWII Jewish ghetto yet poignant and uplifting as a testament to the human spirit and the will to live. I also highly recommend "White Lotus" and "The Child Buyer" by Hersey.”
