• Henry Matthews: Who is Henry Matthews? Henry was a translator when he retired in 2007. He considered this his greatest fulfillment in life. As a kid Henry was one of those extremely dedicated boys who grew up with a piano in the house and practiced for hours and hours. His goal at the time was to be a concert pianist. As time went on Henry’s life changed direction a formal study of the major languages in the world including: oriental, European, South Asian, and Middle Eastern languages. Eventually he landed himself a job with the foreign affairs department for the Canadian government. Sometime around 2000 he became an official translator for the prime minister of Canada for all the east and south Asian languages and some east European nations as well. By 2005 he was involved in researching the origin of languages learning not only new languages but also the evolutionary aspects of some remote and little known languages. Henry retired in 2007 at 65. In 2012, the Asteroid came... The best-case scenario was: he would live and who knows how long that would be considering the projected disaster, worse case was simply a gruesome death under a pile of rubble a mile high. What he did not expect was to Awakening 50,000 years into the future...
• Princess Pamalia: An autocratic member of a famed royal family, whose life and understanding of humanity was changed by Henry’s knowledge and democratic philosophy. Henry never really understood her fascination for him or other deep feelings he was unaware of. One thing for sure, her deep loyalty saved his life during his most critical time . . .
• Trinisha: A dazzling beauty, whose role in life was to be a symbol for humanities highest ideals, she constantly strove for perfection until she met Henry, who captured her heart. Would there be unbridled happiness in their lives, or tragedy? This was ultimately determined by Henry’s new found status.
• Quetus Chino: A powerful but incompetent Ambassador, “destined to believe in destiny” even if it never came: His highest priority was massaging and fulfilling his ego. His son, Illchinois ( a chip off the old block ), followed in his dad’s footsteps, even all the precarious ones. On the other hand, he was father to Trinisha, the new found love of Henry’s life.
• Lucharza and Josa: Lucharza, professor of archaeology and history, and Josa, planetary extractor, played a major role in Henry’s awakened life. They were philosophical opposites but without them, his life would have been significantly different . . . maybe for eternity . . .
• Yosha Membras: Became bonded to Henry in a most significant way, a way that completely altered his life and the lives of his people. “Destiny” is the word to describe this most enduring relationship.
• Bernard and Wadenjo: Spiritual rivals but with the same philosophical mentalities, both would have their lives altered by Henry for eternity. Both were arrogant, and their belief systems did not save them despite Henry’s influence. While they and their people considered themselves visionaries far greater than the rest of humanity, sometimes arrogance is a limit to knowledge and can become a tragedy in itself.
• Seala: A cute, petite female who had all the stature of a waitress, had the power to end mens lives. This was a mistake most men had made throughout her life, and she had always taken advantage of their misimpressions. Seala was an attractive woman for the right kind of man: not a sultry seductress, but someone who you could still be romantically interested in -- at the right time.
