“I am not an adult-fantasy fan and deliberately avoid books with covers like this one - my mistake! Robin McKinley writes elegantly and subtly and devotes more time to her characters than to her action sequence. (Her animal characters are just as lovely as her humans!) Her world is detailed and real, and even though I thought the plot not entirely exciting and even confusing in some areas, the writing was lovely and I'm glad I read it. Might even read more of McKinley - I've heard good things about Sunshine.”
