“Ok, What do people think about Freud's notion of the death drive? I personally think that we do have a certain incline towards what is bad for our health, look at the amount people drink, eat bad food and smoke, but I am unsure as to whether their is a conscious or unconsious part of the mind hell bent on dying. I am sure Freud meant the death drive to mean this, that man does to a certain extent hold a certain desire to do what he knows is bad for him. This desire of course varies from person to person.What i would like to know is other's opinions on the subject? Do you think we like things we know are bad for us, and is this what Freud means by the death drive?”
