We came across this book at the public library a few years ago and it quickly became my then 8 year old's favorite book. A good bit of the math was beyond him then, so I recommended ages 9-12 for the age range. He is 9 now and I bought our own family copy of it a few weeks ago and he was about to bust with excitement for it to arrive, so it will definitely hold the attention of a wiggly boy over the long haul of several years.
