I love Robington. He is by far my favorite character in the Pern series with his sense of humor, quick wit, and strong sense of morality. Anne McCaffrey couldn't have created a more poignant character.

I've probably read this 10 times since I bought it - haunting bookstores until it was available on the shelves - and I still can't get through it without bawling. I was glad to learn more about the Masterharper.

I love this author's books. I really liked Robinton's character; the book started to get depressing during the last half when everyone started dying off, but the very end was exciting and hopeful for the future.

Robinton's life is made so interesting, even though I don't know why. He himself is an intriguing character, which probably helps. I've noticed in other books Robinton's character is much different, and reduced to a few appearances. Now he is given a whole book to himself. A good idea.

I loved these books. A world called Pern populated by beautiful flying dragons and humans. The dragons are ridden by human riders they bond to. Spores call threads are the danger to the world. It pulls you in and you always more.

Robinton is the greatest. I just can't say enough about him.

I Love Pern - anything Pern. Anne McCaffrey's planet, Pern, is where I would like to retire to. Additionally, this one is good, along with DragonSong, DragonSinger and DragonDrums for girls starting about age eleven or twelve, both daughters really enjoyed them! This is a particularly well-written one.
