  • Human Soul: The new psychology; a life changing book which explores the whole human being: body, soul and spirit. When all three work together life is purposeful, creative and very satisfying. A visit to the soul gym is effective, connecting us up to our true self by shedding our pseudo-self. It's rare for a book to break real new ground, but I Connecting: the Soul's Quest does just that. In our material times the words 'soul' and 'spirit' are not part of most people's vocabulary; they are known rather by the gap their absence creates in a life rather than being things discussed over the average breakfast table. So the release of this book by Melbourne-based author and business woman, Kristina Kaine, is timely. It presents the multiple facets of the soul and it's relationship with our higher selves - the 'I' in the title of the book, and how to awaken our sleeping souls so we can connect with our higher self. In a lengthy introduction to I Connecting: the Soul's Quest and tribute to its author, world-renowned author and psychologist, Robert Sardello, says the book "has given us back our individual spirit - not only knowledge of it, but how to care for it". In Sardello's words, I Connecting: the Soul's Quest, is a great guide "to becoming a spiritual human being, something different from just being a human being". He also says, "What James Hillman did for soul life and Thomas Moore did for an everyday religious sense, Kristina Kaine now does for spiritual experience. Solid, clear, writing, wholly practical." Although this is Kaine's first book, she has been for many years a student of the hidden human being and is now a teacher in her own right. She shows a knack for making the complex relatively simple, and, while this book is certainly not something that can be breezed through in an afternoon, it is nonetheless a very practical guide to the process of awakening the soul, and in particular, becoming more aware of our thinking, our feelings and our intentions. Kaine's use of simple examples and analogies works well in shedding light on what may otherwise be difficult concepts for some readers, and, let's be honest, if the process of bringing the soul and then the 'I' to life were simple, we all would have mastered it by now! According to Kaine, this awakening process is what lies in front of all of humanity over the next few hundred years. With that understanding, I Connecting: the Soul's Quest is an important and timely contribution to the process.
