Depressing: dwarves are enslaved, elves are gone, life sucks. This whole series is one slow story spread among 4 books. Different names but same characters as before.

It is a good book for those with a military or fantasy mind.

The wishsong is a powerful weapon and a useful tool. Something different.

The world has need once again for the old magic. It's time for the Ohmsford clan to take their places among their ancestors. Walker in particuar is an incredible character.

My very first Shannara book. Full of mysteries, full of suspense, full of questions that needs answers. This book will make you read the sequels

Great book, but be prepared that you will need to read the next three books if you want to feel any kind of closure or experience an actual end. Every book ends in at least a mild cliffhanger. Great book, though.

This actually made me miss the old Shannara books, though I admit that I came to love the characters. That the Elessedils now have the Elfstones seems proper. That the Ohmsfords have newly introduced elven blood is proper. And of course we have to throw in the Sword of Shannara. Even Allanon's ghost will not leave the children of Shannara alone. I think it's hilarious. I don't like Walker so much, but Morgan Leah is the type of Leah that I like, getting everyhting back onto a proper track.
