While considerably darker in many respects from his previous work, Terry somehow merges science fiction with fantasy in a way that seems almost natural, making this an...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“I enjoyed this novel quite a bit. It had a good balance of adventure, character involvement, supernatural happenings, and hints of an ominous, and exciting, future.
As I also remember, some of the segments of the story got a bit long, which only detracted from the book slightly, and is my only complaint. ”
“Set 15 years after Nest, Knights of the Word, Logan is in search of the gypsy morph by the guide of Nest's bones. And, Angel is guided in search of the elfstone Loden. The Chosen are told by the Elcrys to move them to a safer home because the Void is threatening her survival. This is a fast and exciting read that I found very hard to put down.”

Now I have to go back and reread "Sword of Shannara" to see if it really justified my origiinal unenthusiastic review. One warning to readers: it's a continued story. You don't have to read anything before it, but you'll want to read the sequel!”

If you've read any of the Shannara series you'll appreciate this trilogy for its look at the pre-Shannara escapades. The characters are well executed and the setting is post modern”

L'histoire ce passe dans un monde détruit et très difficile, les personnages sont interressant. Par contre, je trouve que l'auteur nous amène trop souvant dans le passé. C'est un livre à lire”

It's pretty original and makes for a pretty good read. This trilogy gives you fantasy, sci fi and a bit of road warrior. I wouldn't recommend you run out and buy it, but if someone gives it to you go ahead and give it a read.”

It appears that this book and the other two in the trilogy are recent additions to the Shannara series.
Realy enjoyed the book and will now complete this set before I move onto the original books.
I hope that the earlier books are as good a read.”
