“This isn't so much a fantasy as a really bad feudal-whodunit narrative. The plot is lame! The characters are as shallow as Sweet Valley High. And, yes, it's so epic you can blaze through 600 pages and you won't miss a thing. SPOILER: royal children inherit kingdom because someone murdered their older brother, lotsa blah in between and they eventually figure out who did it. Duh! WASTE. OF. TIME. Burn it!!!”
