One of Heinlen's best- it is amazing the social Futurism he was able to predict- it seems to me a lot of what he wrote, especially in the 60's came to fruition...he's a charismatic ariter....can never put his books down.

This is one of my favorites by the grand master. His authorial voice is almost overpowering, but since I liked that aspect of his writing, it doesn't bother me. The story itself seems fresh and ready for modern readers. Heinlein had great vision regarding the future of mankind and this planet, and he was at the end of his career when this volume was published. I highly recommend it as a book and as an introduction to the author's work.

I loved this book because of the strong female heroine. And just FYI, the 1982 hardback cover did not look anything like the paperback release the next year. I don't think I would have read it had I seen this cover. I wonder if the original looked anything like this...
