“Review on blog: http://tumblinginbooks.blogspot.com/2013/01/blog-tour-aversion-by-kenechi-udogu.html
This is the second book I read by Kenechi Udogu and she never fail to amaze me with her writing. Gemma has the power to alter people’s mind set and that is called an Averter.
I was drawn to this book from the very first page. Kenechi brings something new in this YA paranormal genre with the aversion concept. Kenechi managed to portray Gemma’s voice as an Averter very well. On the outside, Gemma looks like your everyday teenage girl. She’s a little lonely, yes. But she has enough quirk and personality that makes her likeable and relatable.
The connection between Russ and Gemma is pretty intense and intriguing. There was a perfect plot twist halfway through the book and OMG! The ending! I have this knot in my stomach that can’t be cured by any medicine in the world until I read Sentient(Book 2). But Aversion isn’t really a well-rounded story(I don’t mean it in a bad way), it’s more like an introduction to a series. Which is WHY I CAN’T wait for Book 2 to publish! Oh gosh, the anxiety of waiting!
Overall, Aversion has all the stuff one needs in a book(it may not seem like it but it’s pretty squeal-worthy). Aversion was such a fun read! Seriously, if you’re not reading this, you’re seriously missing on something very good here.”
