A few years ago I had tried to read Walter Isaacson's biography on Benjamin Franklin, but just couldn't get through it because the author mired everything down in pointless details. Despite that, I decided to give his more recent book about famed theoretical physicist Albert Einstein a try. If it...

If you don't know much about Einstein this is the book to read. It describes his life, influences, and travels.

Einstein is undoubtedly famous. We use his name to name anyone who shows intelligence. It's very interesting to know a little more about the real man, rather than the myth of today.

While Einstein might have been brilliant, I was not too impressed with him as a husband. What I did like about this book, is that while covering Einstein's life and work, it also gave an overview of 20th century history! It's amazing how Eintsein's life and work were so intertwined with the major events of that century. (PS. I still don't understand the theory of relativity!)

At time, very difficult to read because of Isaacson's coverage of Einstein's scientific work and physics, in general.

I'm not altogether sure sbout this book about this book about Albert Einstein. I wanted to like Einstein and I've a Chemistry degree and I found the book a hard read. I'm not altogether sure what most non-scientists would think about the science involved, and nearly everyone might think he was a nightmare to his first wife and kids.

If you can cope with the sensation that your ideals about a hero have been shattered, read this book. If you can't done.

Well written bio - good insight into the character and personality of Einstein - not overwhelmed by the science.

Enjoyed the latter part. Got lost through some of the physics. Worth reading, but not necessarily enjoyable.
