If you like clever writing and even cleverer (albeit screwed up) characters, you will not want to put this novel down. You'll be just as determined as Bee to find out where Bernadette went.

Run to get this book! I laughed out loud while listening in the car. Bee and Bernadette are just the right kind of crazy. I returned the audio book to PPLS, so you can check it out! The actor reading it was awesome.

Starts off funny, so many things go wrong and are so off the wall, you chuckle. There are wild hyper private school moms, over the top corporate culture, and crazy hermit lady, but you can't help but like the main characters. There is a trip to Antartica, which is fascinating and makes me want to do research (but not go). Overall, leaves a smile on my face, but definitely not your tradional type of novel.

I couldn't put this book down. Very funny satire. The ending was a little disappointing.

While the character of Bernadette was interesting, I found her to be a bit far-fetched. The story is well told, the secondary characters are well thought out and the author absolutely nailed the corporate culture of Microsoft (I work there, too). Of course, each department is a bit different than the others, but for the most part it was accurate almost to the point of being spooky.

I especially enjoyed the story line of the gnats (what Bernadette refers to other private school Moms as because they're annoying) and the blackberry removal.

The title and cover make the book seem like fluffy chick lit, but this was actually a great read. Well-written, engaging plot, interesting characters. My only criticism was that a major a plot point in the story was way too far-fetched. And the 10-page emails from every character were not realistic (in reality, most people can't be troubled to type more than a quick text). But those stretches didn't really take away from the story. Great book, five stars.

I had never heard of the author and knew nothing about the plot, so I was blown away by how well matched this book is to my tastes. Dysfunctional but likable characters, cutting and clever humor, a dash of technology, unconventional narrative style: I loved it all. Passing references to Chris Anderson and Morrissey, seemingly with the assumption that her readers would know who they are, secured this book's place in my heart as a favorite.

I don't give out very many 5 stars but I absolutely loved reading this book! Although, to be precise, I listened to it. The narrator brought these characters to life. It can be confusing when listening to a book when you have a book whose story is told by characters if the switch between characters isn't specific enough for the listener to realize it without losing touch with the story but this narrator handled this perfectly.

I liked this book so much, I might actually read it too!

This book was a little too clever for its own good. The characters were pretty two-dimensional, the construct (everything written: letters, e-mails) worked only okay. It was kind of fun that the setting was Seattle, except for the fact that Seattle was constantly being trash-talked. Bee was too good to be true. In fact, all of the characters were about 50% more "whatever" than they needed to be. Bernadette too crazy, Elgin too much of an overachiever, the plot too far-fetched... It had a few sweet or funny moments, but overall I was not impressed.

Quirky fun read. I could totally relate to Bernadette when she went on some of her rampages. Made me stop and do a reality check a couple of times, like " do people think I'm crazy too".
