“This was one of the first stories by Isaac Asimov which brought him such well-deserved accolades. 'Nightfall' is about a planet with six suns. There is always light - except every 2050 years when due to eclipse, night falls and stars come out to bewilder the planet's population.
As far as sci-fi goes, it is not very spectacular; but it is certainly rife with symbolism. The way a phenomenon is perceived by men; how a religious text start based on a fact but eventually loses its way; the limitations of Science at a given time and yet the very knowledge of its own limitations serving as one of its most important strengths and beyond all the vulnerabilities that engulf scientist and religious zealots alike.
This book has certainly made me want rest of the books by Asimov.”
