“What is the Foundation? It is Seldon's group of employee/desciples working on a planet to insure his instructions to prevent chaos are carried out. The second book begins by stating that the Emporer wants to declare war on the Foundation through his general Bel Riose. However the Foundation sends Dver to reason with the Emperor. The reader must always keep in mind that everything has been predicted and all that is done is in favor of the Seldon plan.
The second part to this book is the story of the Mule. The Mules is a mind controler and he is the most sly creature in the galaxy. He attampts to take over the galaxy, and he does quite well. He cannot be stopped since he manipulates people right under their noses, and from their inner most being. He is referred to as a mutant. A recently married couple and a Foundaiton man set out to seek the Foundation's secrets and try to save it. They try understanding the inner most parts of Seldon's plan and try to find a rumored "second" Fundation within the galaxy. As they set out on thie quest, they befriend a clown in the Mules court who comes along with them on their quest. In the end however, right when the Foundation man is revealing his secret, the woman (Bayta) shoots him dead. This is because the 'clown' is secretly the tirant Mule himself. Since the FOundation man did not know that, he was about to reveal the secret of the second foundation to the Mule himself! ONce again the Mule manipulates their minds and walks away from them unharmed. ”

This takes up where Foundation ends. A mutant called the mule disrupts Seldon's plans, and the Foundation is captured and destroyed. Then it becomes apparent the Foundation was a front for the secret, hidden, Second Foundation.”
“Part of the long adventure”
