I keep waiting for someone to make a movie of this one. The main character, Paul, has had his eyes damaged as a child, by looking at an eclipse for too long. Despite that, he is a star soccer player, a goalie. That doesn't really count in his family, where his brother Erik is a star place kicker for the football team. The family moves to Tangerine, Florida, to a housing development that looks beautiful from the outside, but beneath the surface is ugly. There is a stinky muck fire burning...

hated this book. would never read it again because all it was was a kid who had bad things after bad things happen to him.

    usually when ur forced to read a book because of school and the teacher makes you do work,u eventually start to dislike the book alot even if it is really good. so i understand when people say they hated it because of the work they got. i totally get it, but i actually did really like this book.(no it wasnt for school)
