One of the best of the Bosch books, plus some closure on a story that had been ongoing.

Occasionally authors take an opportunity to tie together themes, characters and/or plot lines from previous unrelated works into a single work. This can be done with varying degrees of success. (Attempts by Stephen King to do so always force me to ask "Why bother?") Connelly, on the other hand, has done a good job of it in The Narrows.

I didn't realize that this was a sequel but didn't have any problem following the story.

My only complaint is that this is my first Harry Bosch starring book after having read a Lincoln Lawyer book that included him and I realized, Harry didn't sound or feel any different really than LL. Other than a few different details, they feel like the same character.

Anyways, I still enjoyed the book.

This book is wonderful in that it brings together so many characters and past story lines.

Another good Harry Bosch book...twists and turns and unexpected 'culprits' are always part of the stories.
