Cast of Characters/Important People

  • Alexander Montgomery: The dual personality hero in this story of revolution and patriotism of America, who falls for the stubborn Jessica Taggert, Alex the pot bellied lacky and then the Raider who saves the town from the Brittish tyrants.
  • Nickolas Yvanovitch: Russian friend of Alex and cousin to the current Tzarina, also in love with Eleanore, Jess's sister.
  • Jessica Taggert: parent to her other orphaned siblings along with her sister Eleanore trying to keep their family clothed and sheltered. Runs her own fishing boat and finds her self being persued by both the new version of the old Alex she hated and now despises and also the new braggart the Raider. Although the Raider has a much easier time winning her over and seducing her the "new" Alex has a bit harder time as he has to (or thinks he has to) keep Jess in the dark about his real identity. and is hard pressed to keep him self away from her.
  • Eleanore Taggert: the alternate heroine of this story finds her man as well in the big brawny russian who shows too much impertinance and seems to try her patience but also catches her eye. She is trying to keep Jessica out of trouble but her stubborn willfull sister is hard to coral. and Eleanore is thrown into her own path of patriotism and passion.
  • Nathaniel Taggert: little but oldest of the brothers, always getting into mischief and ever finding himself where he's not supposed to be. Is the babysitter and motivator of the other little ones of the family. He's the little man of the family and feels responsible and sees much more than his older sisters would like him to.
  • Marriana Montgomery Pitman: sister to Alex and his brothers Montgomery, and married to the reason for Alex's return to Warbrooke, Is really oblivious to everything except the mal dealings with Pitman and her fathers estate.
  • John Pitman: british officer who has all but taken completely over the estate of Sayer Montgomery, and is found to be embezzling funds from their estate.
  • Admiral Westmorland: sent for by Pitman and set to seeing to the demise of the Raider. and decides that Jess is not being coraled and properly dressed and when she is decides she needs to married immediately to keep the town from chaos.
  • Mr Clymer: a local tanner that wants to marry Jess and whom Jess is constantly avoiding.
  • Ethan Ledbetter: one of the handsome men in town interested in Jess when the admiral forces her to marry but then finds himself attached to the crazy young Abbigail Wentworth.
  • Abbigail Wentworth: she thinks she is went more than shes worth ha ha, but seriously the girl is trippin. and finds her self married to a man against her will as well but decides its not so bad after all.
  • Mr and Mrs Wentwort: parents of Abby and helpers eventually of the revolutionary cause of America.
  • Countess Sophy Tatalini: old lover/friend of Alex's from Italy coming the way of Alex's town and ends up helping Jess with winning Alex over to the idea of telling her the truth as she makes friends with her old lovers new wife.

ALEXANDER Montgomery leaned back in the chair and stretched his long, lean legs across the carpeted floor of the captain's quarters of The Grand Duchess and watched Nicholas Ivanovitch berate one of the servants.
