Cast of Characters/Important People

  • Helen Neville: 2nd wife of Gilbert Neville and step mother to the beautiful Liana, forces Gilbert to marry Liana off.
  • Gilbert Neville: Father of Liana and husband to Helen, Lazy and happy with still having his daughter there who actually does most of the work for him.
  • Liana Neville: step daughter of Helen, daughter of Gilbert, Meets Rogan at a private pond and falls for him. and even though he filthy and lice ridden she chooses him over all the other suitors that her father sends for. Is a bit later known as the Fire Lady as she sets the bed on fire that she finds her husband in with a harlot. and then soon after sends the "days" back to town.
  • Joice: Lianas ladies maid, has known her from birth and she instructs her as to how a wife is suppose to act. but it backfires. no pun intended.
  • William: a suitor
  • Sir Robert Fitzwarren: a suitor who is quite ardent with his affections.
  • Lord Stephen: a suitor (rather arrogant)
  • Rogan Peregrine: Lord of Castle Moray, a suitor but is chosen over all the others as Liana met him before and fell in love with him. He brought falcons as a gift to Lianas father and this won him over immediately. his brother to living relatives Severn, Zared, Baudoin and later found to also be related to possibly half the near by village one way or the other. is at first a lecher, filthy urchin, and basically an all out jerk.
  • Severn Peregrine: Next youngest brother of Rogan and older brother to Zared and also Baudoin, lover of Ioleth the wife of a banker. who is staying at the castle.
  • Zared Peregrine: thought at first to be the youngest brother of the Peregrines turns out they started out dressing her like a boy to protect her. so most people thought she was a boy. She soon begins to ask for womens clothes.
  • The deceased family members: The Lady Jane - 1st wife of old Giles, Grandmother to the boys Giles the father of John husband of Jane. he Married Bess Howard after that. but the Howards took the leger that contained the proof of the marraige. and hid it. supposedly they werent legally married and so the king took away their lands and gave it to the thieving Howards. theyve been sworn enemies since. John is father to the Peregrine boys John and his wife and their son William were kept prisoner at Castle Bevan and starved to death. before that Rowland, Basil, and James were murdered at one time or another. now Rowland was murdered when the Howards came and kidnapped Rogans 1st wife Jeanne Randel Peregrine now Howard. She got pregnant by Oliver H. during her capture and fell in love. also decided it would spare his life. So Rogan got an annulment.
  • Jeanne Randell Peregrine Howard: Jeanne had an arranged marraige with Rogan, he was 16 and she 15, this ended when Howards took her and she got pregnant with Olivers child then they got an annulment and she married Oliver. She also helps Rogan and Liana in a pinch.
  • The Days: 8 whores who are to serve Rogan one day a week with an extra in case of female trouble. etc. They stayed at the castle untill Liana set fire to one their beds when she found Rogan in it with one of them.
  • Baudoin (turns out to be a Peregrine): is the husband of Gabby, meets Rogan at a village fair during a wrestling match, then they fight and then Gabby comes into the picture and Rogan has invited Baudoin to come and train for knighthood at the castle Moray.
  • Gabby: Wife of Baudoin and she negotiates the acceptance of the invitation by bringing lunch. etc. they seem to hit things off and she becomes the new head maid at Castle Moray.
  • Oliver Howard: Lord of Howards Castle, and thief of his wife Jeanne who used to be married to Rogan. and murderer of most of Rogans family.

First Sentence
