Cast of Characters/Important People

  • Temperance O'Neil: well shes a wonderful or at least seemingly wonderful persons acting as an early social worker, and yet she finds herself wanting in the department of character and personal understanding.
  • Mother O'Neil (sorry I already gave book back): Mother O'Neil may seem passive and uninvolved but you see less than halfway into the story where she shows that she knows her personal purpose in life and strives to help her daughter understand what she really needs in her life. Sometimes mothers do know best. also still waters run deep.
  • Angus McCairn: well without him none of this would have taken place. He comes off at first as selfish and narrow minded and he really is sort of narrowminded but he does seem to care.
  • James McCairn: Jaded by past experiece James is really just a man who doesnt want anymore do with marraige but even so is tempted by this woman who has been sent by his uncle. He doesnt seem to get it with women until he's faced with a stark reality of his own selfishness.
  • Grace ????: Well she is her names sake and in the end she is the one who seems to save the day as it where. she's had everything in her life taken from her and yet she still has a warm and giving heart. she is really the heroine of this story.
