Cast of Characters/Important People

  • Derek Strange: Ex-cop, now a successful private investigator. Loves music, his women (and girl friend) - All around good guy.
  • Terry Quinn: Strange finds a kinship with Quinn, who is desperate to proclaim himself "color-blind." Kicked off the force and convinced that there's more to his own story, Quinn asks to join Strange in his investigation of a black cop that was killed by a white cop.

First Sentence

WHAT Derek Strange was worried about, looking at Jimmy Simmons sitting there, spilling over a chair on the other side of his desk, was that Simmons was going to pick some of Strange's personal shit up off the desktop in front of him and start winging it across the room.
