Albom has been accused of writing treacle, but sometimes sweetness can be good, and his truly is. Chick Benetto lived his life trying to please his absent father, often at the expense of his mother....” see full review » see other reviews » |

“Wonderfully written. It does make one think about who they'd like to spend one more day with and how that might change your future.”

After his wife and child left him alone he didnt know what to do so he turned to drinking. He soon became an alcoholic. When he thinks that nothing else can go right in his life he commits suicide. Theres one problem though, it didn't work. Then he finds himself in a strange place with his dead mother. Chick asks himself what if? What if you had one more day with the ones you love, before you die, to ask anything or say anything. This is the journey through Chick Benetto's last chance for survival. I reccomend this book to basically anyone who is looking for a great book.”

To me, he always brings up interesting themes and ideas, mostly along the lines of death and the life after it, I guess. It's almost a cincher, but not quite. Funny and poignant at times, but I think he has the potential to write a much longer novel.”
