“It was a fun randy adventure. Roald Dahl has a way of lying that makes me practically believe the unbelievable.”

Although...it is a little creepy that a snozberry is referred to in the novel as the head of a penis and then snozberry is also used in "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory" as a part of the lickable wallpaper for the kids!!”

Ultimately it's the same story with Henry Sugar, Willy Wonka and Danny The Champion of The World except that this one is in a very adult context. Equally fantastical but funnier than the others. Having read the others I find Roald Dahl repetitious with this book, still for all it's humor it's worth reading.”

Such silliness, so much fun; guaranteed to make you snicker. This memoir of Uncle Oswald describes his marketing of the Sudanese Blister Beetle and his partnership with the erotic Yasmin Howcomely. The dedication page quotes from Oswald's Diaries: "I do love a romp". Well, this is the ultimate reading romp!”

Not a literary masterpiece, although it made me call it such several times... I tend to look for books that don't bore me, full of events -spicy, even better!- instead of descriptions and I'm fond of really interesting and rare personalities, that's why I suppose I like this one so much.
However, I didn't like a comment he made on African people, though I want to believe he was being sarcastic TOWARDS the racists... I'm not sure. I also noticed quite a few misogynist remarks... which I think were necessary to portray the main character as a true cynic. What else...?
Ah, the part about sodomy was really good! I'm not against sodomists, but this was very funny, as well as the pages about Freud...!!!! The man was a genious ;)
Really shocking at times, yet never vulgar nor gross.. Some would call him a pervert but I think it was his immense imagination that amazes us.. Not every one can write like this. Audacious and cute, smart and funny, I like daring language and thoughts :)”
