This unique science-fiction detective book is a wonderful component to a classroom library. The plot of this book follows three super-powered investigators (the Ear, the Eye and the Arm) as they attempt to rescue Zimbabwe’s chief of security’s three kidnapped children. I have just begun to read this book again for about the third time, but I can tell you that it is one of my favorites (yeah, really). I love to read science fiction because I am intrigued by how the authors think the future might be or how they creatively envision a different life than what we live now.

This particular book has three detectives, the Ear, the Eye, and the Arm, people who have been genetically transformed during pregnancy by environmental influences, to find three kidnapped children of a famous or infamous police commissioner. The travels of the these three detectives is amazing as they search in different areas of the city to find them, always just a few minutes behind the children.
