I read this when I was 14, and I adored it, and I still do. The movies will NEVER be as good the book, and this is my perferred reading material on cold afternoons with a mug of hot cocoa and a comfy chair.
The book of my childhood, I liked the movie also
I really love this book because it makes me feel I'm a child ^^
Jesse - yes this book is available in English as well as many other languages - it's a classic :D
The best book in a lifetime.
the book of my childhood...
I haven't read the book nor saw the movie (though I have it now coz a friend gave it to me). do you think I should give it a try?
If only to see the differences between film and novel...
Honestly, the movie had the right idea about this book. Although, the movie severely altered the plot and left out very beautiful thought processes and events...I believe the book would have been much more coherent had it stopped shortly after Fantastica is first destroyed and recreated. I feel like the end of the book was sloppily written as a quick conclusion for something that was much vaster and needed much more attention. I really grew to dislike Bastian's character and his about-face at the end does nothing to change that feeling.
I think it's kinda funny that the book is called the NeverENDing Story, and the author's name is Michael ENDe.
