- Gor: A world looking much like ours, but artificially restrained by aliens to a civilization without factories and pollutants. The only metalurgy of note is for the sword.
- Earth: A planet of mankind and vast scientific knowledge, also of overcrowded populations and pollution destroying the planet. Tarl Cabot is a college professor here.
