“E. B. White's Charlotte's Web (1952) is a touching story of a Pig named Wilbur who was rescued from death by a strong willed and determined young girl named Fern. When Wilbur is too big for Fern to continue looking after him in her home she takes him to stay in the barn. Here Wilbur develops unusual friendships with the other farm animals - including his friendship with the very clever spider, Charlotte. Charlotte helps to save Wilbur from slaughter through her use of writing words on her web.
This book is beautifully written and tells the story of determination, fighting for what is right, the weak winning over the strong, friendship, loyalty, the changing of seasons, the cycle of life and death and importance of change and kindness. It is a wonderful book to read to and with children as it opens up countless opportunities for discussing the countless life lessons that are presented.

“I didn't quite like this book when I was a child. Perhaps I'm now armed with a different understanding, I truly love reading this classic.
The story is all about a touching friendship between a spider, Charlotte, a pig, Wilbur and okay... a rat named Templeton. The other point I have to emphasize is that, it's a little bit on the realistic side (if you read it, you'll know what I'm talking about.)
“Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White is a great book. I like all of the life lessons that can be learned from the character’s in this book. I also love the relationships the characters share. This book is about Fern and her pig Wilbur. Fern saves Wilbur from death as a baby and sells him to her uncle so she can visit him every day.
Once Wilbur is at the Zuckerman’s farm he meets all the animals in the barn and experiences many different emotions. He is sad because he doesn’t have an animal friend, he is scared to see what is outside of his fenced area, he is happy because he finally meets a friend named Charlotte. Throughout the story Charlotte and Wilbur grow very fond of each other and Charlotte the spider saves his life; and Wilbur saves something special of Charlotte’s.

“Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White is a story about a girl named Fern and her love for a pig named Wilbur. Wilbur is in jeopardy of being slaughtered by Fern’s dad and she takes a stand to save him. Wilbur also enlists the help of the other barn animals and a special spider named Charlotte. Charlotte and Wilbur become great friends and devise a plan to save Wilbur. Charlotte plays a key role in trying to save Wilbur. She uses her talents with spinning webs to draw attention to the loveable pig Wilbur and creates a buzz through the whole county. Will the Fern, the barn animals and Charlotte be able to save Wilbur? This book is truly a classic and timeless book. I love how E.B. White draws readers to Wilbur and his fun loving personality. Everyone is routing for Wilbur to succeed and become Fern’s pet, including the reader. This is a story that will continue to be passed down from generation to generation.
