“Another favorite! I am truly enjoying this series. It has a little bit of everything in it. The writing is so effortless. Half way through the book I did seem to feel that Chris and Sara were going back and forth a bit too much in their relationship but by about 70%-75% things picked up quickly and a lot of answers were solved by the end. The answers I was looking for was solid too. I was afraid it would be a major let down but she didn't disappoint! Can't wait to read the 3rd book. ”Christina E wrote this review 5 days ago. “My journey with this series of books has been anything but disappointing. As a lover of The Crossfire Series (yes I think they are more like that than FSOG) I thought that these books where going to be just that. But they are so much more. The search for Rebecca continues through out this book. This book is named Being Me and it doesn’t take long to figure out why. During the process of living her new life Sara is ripped open on more than one occasion. She found that she must drag herself back into the dark recesses of all that she’s known to protect herself from the pain and hurt the her new world has brought her into. And in doing so she finds herself. That she can survive if just given the chance. Chris & Sara are finally gaining ground beginning to be the couple that they want to be until they are rocked backwards with the reality of the secrets that they have tried to keep hidden. Chris ends up being pushed to his limits before he lets the dark side rage harder than it had ever before. As things begin to quickly unravel more and more secrets keep unearthing themselves. Which leads to the question that needs answering its all or nothing? What’s your choice there is “No in Between”

My goodness, Jones will kill me with this kind of intensity. I absolutely can't get enough of this series. The story, the suspense, the characters, the emotions - it all comes together so beautifully. This was a wonderful sequel and I am so excited for book 3, which I am also head over heels for.
Sara and Chris are back and I love them more than ever. In this book, we see that Sara is slowly peeling away from her sheltered, school teacher persona. She has quickly fallen into the world of art which is her dream. I love how much we get to see of these characters. Jones really opens them up in this book and it is quite the roller coaster to say the least. We learn so much about Chris and his past. We learn about how broken he is and how much more broken he may become. The pain he harbors is something he doesn't want Sara to see because he feels he will lose her. He can be a jerk sometimes about it, but I understand after getting a glimpse of what makes him who he is. I love the complexity of his character. You really never know what to expect with him. We also see that Sara has some demons that actually make an appearance in this book as well. I couldn't believe what she had to grow up with.
We also learn a bit of the problems between Mark and Chris which was quite interesting. I really hope we get a book about Mark. I find him just as intriguing as Chris and we see quite a different side to him in this book which I really enjoyed. Jones threw me for a loop there. I really love these characters. They always keep me on the edge of my seat even without the suspense of the story itself. They are incredible.
The story was quite the adrenaline rush especially near the end. We still don't know anything about Rebecca. But the journals have been giving more and more clues to what could possibly be the reason why she disappeared. Oh man, get ready to have your mind blown. It will be crazy to say the least. But not only do we have to deal with Rebecca, but Sara's best friend, Ella, seems to have disappeared as well. She still hasn't answered her phone and she should have at least came back to start the school year since she is a school teacher as well. This journey that Jones has taken us on will knock you senseless and you will love every second of it. I know I did.
This book was extremely sexy. Jones knows how to heat you up from the inside out and leave you raw afterwards. Sara and Chris are explosive in this book. Everything between them is intense and amazing. Things aren't perfect between them, but that makes things better for them, They have so much barriers to break down and it was an exhilarating experience I thoroughly enjoyed.
This book was impossible to put down. I read this while cooking and almost burnt my food, but it was worth it. This definitely on the favorites' list, very high on the favorites' list in fact. Jones writing is impeccable and it shows. This is one hell of a sequel. You can not miss this series, you would regret it. I am really excited that this may be a show on Starz. They will have plenty to work with and it will be fun seeing it played out in front of me. This is highly recommended.”
“Oh my! I have no idea how to start off this review because this book made me go through so much that I’m having a hard time putting down in words…what I loved most about this book. Lisa Renee Jones stepped up even further in Being Me with the emotions, romance, and suspense. HOLY MOLY!!! This book put me through hell several times. I think I got run over by a truck and trampled over by elephants or something after reading this book. It’s not a bad thing either.
- Warning though…this is a long review…but it will not contain Spoilers -
I never knew an Author, who could leave me in such shock over just an amazing ending and even throughout the whole entire damn story. Lisa Renee Jones, I bow to your writing style because now I’m having a hard time doing anything else. She gripped me into the story and made me feel everything that Sara was feeling. I definitely felt like I was a long the ride with Sara on finding out where the heck is Rebecca at? Why has she not come back from her trip with her mysterious lover?
Why is Sara now in danger? And what the hell is wrong with Chris in this story? He definitely made me step back several times and hate him. He put Sara through so much and did not explain why. Grrr!!! I also was worried that Sara was living Rebecca’s life because at the end of If I Were You, we found out a deep secret about Chris and what he does to punish himself. In Being Me, Sara is trying to keep herself from following the same path as Rebecca. She does not want to be controlled like she was with her father and the man her father wanted her with. In fact, her past creeps up in Being Me, but that life is crushed with the help of Chris.
Chris is always there for her, but in the ending when something crushes him, he ends up going back down the road, he has tried to keep Sara from. Sara did the wrong thing and ends up several times trying to get some answers from the people that Chris despises and wants Sara to stay away from.
Being Me is all about Sara continuing her search for Rebecca, trying to find out what happened to her friend Ella, and find out more about the man she is falling for. She begins to question and doubt everyone in Being Me and Lisa Renee Jones makes you question everyone’s motives and if, who you think is a good guy, may be behind everything is happening.
I definitely was not expecting that ending that Lisa did…and there are so many more questions I still need answered about Chris. More questions opened up in this story even when something came to a close.
I wish I could give this book 10 full moons because this book definitely deserves it. I am still in shock after typing up this review. I must read the next book in the series right away, so I can finally learn about the mysterious, sexy Chris.
My last bit on my review that I left for last that I loved most about this story was the steamy, hot scenes between Sara and Chris. There is so much more with these two, that make you love them together, but fear for them both as well. The tension and the love between those two are there in the open. They both have a hard time expressing it due to what they have been through. They definitely have to figure out what they want with each other and I hope Revealing Us has an amazing ending for both Sara and Chris. I’m already prepared for another world wind of emotions. I need to have the tissues on hand and cold ice water for the scenes that get really steamy in the next book. I have learned my lesson with Lisa Renee Jones…at least I hope so. She is definitely auto-buy Author for me and I definitely recommend the Inside Out books to anyone, who loves an author, who can make you leave reality for awhile. (I’m having a hard time going back to reality now after Being Me)”
“5/5 – Since I don’t have a 4.5 rating I am giving a 5 but feel it should be 4.5
4.5 big Super stars
This is NOT a stand-alone book, you need to read book #1 of Lisa Renee Jones's Inside Out series, IF I WERE YOU.
As with most trilogies you will have questions that are not answered in the first book and might not be answered until the last one. Please try having some to be patience!!!
This book was written as present tense and in first person POV. Makes it easier to figure out what is happening in the past (with Rebecca’s journal entries) and the present.
BEING ME picks up right where IF I WERE YOU left us hanging...finally an answer to what happened to Sara in the storage facility! The lights are out and Sara is about to hyperventilate as she hears things and think at any moment she will be grabbed.
She manages to escape in one piece only to have Chris come to her rescue. After that scare she will need to be more careful in trying to discover more information as we are not sure where the danger is coming from. Is the danger from Rebecca being missing or from something in Sara’s past?
“Save your commands for another more enticing time, Chris. I’m not staying in the car. Haven’t you watched Friday the 13th? Michael slashes the girl in the car.”
“Michael is from Halloween. Jason is Friday the 13th.”
“Whoever he is, he slashes the girl in the car. I’m not staying in the car.”
There is a lot of back and forth between Chris and Sara. You learn more about each of their pasts. How it shaped them into who they are today. The problem is that you feel that you have to drag Chris’s information out of him where Sara will share hers. Makes them feel a lot of hurt feelings, untrustworthiness, and pain in the relationship.
She continues to work with Mark in the gallery even as she is aware that he wants her. The tension between them evolves throughout the book. With it finally coming to a head when she is hurting over Chris’s leaving her to deal with his pain in his own way.
As for Rebecca you find out part of what happened to her and who is responsible. Also who feels they are responsible for what happened to her.
We also wonder what has happened to Sara’s friend Ella. Where is she and why is she not getting in touch with Sara.
As for the ending what will Sara decide?
Questions I have for the next book?
Will she go to Paris with Chris?
Where is Ella?
What exactly happened to Rebecca?
I can’t wait for the next book in the series REVEALING US which comes out in September 2013.

NOW OPTIONED TO STARZ for TV!
The sexy second installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy, following If I Were You—in the seductive tradition of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the lost journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.
In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but not before his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca, but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?
Fantasy and reality combine for Sara in this second book in the Inside Out trilogy that author Lisa Renee Jones has captured the imagination of multitudes of readers with when she released book 1 If I Were You . In Being Me we reconnect with Sara trapped in the dark in the storage unit where she has been looking through more of Rebecca's things when the power suddenly went out. Sara has a full blown anxiety attack thinking someone is either in the storage unit with her or just outside the door in the hallway and flees the building to her car. She leaves but then realizes the unit is unlocked and ends up having her lover Chris Merit come meet her so they can go back inside and lock the door. This is just the beginning of a very intense story that takes us further into both Chris and Sara's relationship and the art world that Sara so passionately wishes to make her career.
When first Sara hooked up with Chris in book 1 If I Were You their coming together was a side story that had not been fully realized, in this second book Being Me that relationship takes center stage and heats up the pages quite frequently.
Not only do we get more insight into Sara's background, including her family relationships and her reason for blowing hot and cold emotionally but we also finally get to find out what really happened to Rebecca.
Along with insight into Sara's troubled past we are also made aware of just how damaged emotionally her sexy lover, Artist Chris Merit, is and as she finds out the depths of his pain Sara does everything within her power to show him that with her love he can finally stop shutting her out but instead embrace what they have and allow it to help him heal.
This is a book of revelations that will take the reader places with the characters that they were hoping to be allowed access to, it will also prove that book 1 was not just a fluke as this second book in trilogy has just as much appeal and at times is even more of an emotional roller coaster.
My thinking upon finishing was that at this point not only has Lisa Renee Jones completely taken Chris and Sara to a new level but she has also done a great job in concluding the mystery behind Rebecca's disappearance in a manner that was in keeping with the buildup of suspense that was running through the book from beginning to end.
What I am hoping for but not counting on is that in the third and final book everything that has happened between Chris and Sara from this point forward comes to it's final conclusion, in a way that will not only satisfy the readers curiosity but in a way that will bring the troubled pair some lasting happiness together!
Come September of 2013 which brings the third and final book in the trilogy Revealing Us to release date my patience will be sorely tested even with the interim installments that the author is offering of her free novella Behind Closed Doors which we can read a chapter of for free every Monday starting June 3rd, 2013 if we sign up Here .

The journals are still haunting Sara. Where is Rebecca? Why hasn’t she returned to retrieve her journals? Her most private thoughts of her passion and pain left for anyone to find. Chris Merit the famous painter has been pushing Sara to go places she never knew she would go. Chris is forcing her to work through her pain all the while Chris is using the pain for pleasure. Sara is struggling to be controlled by Chris and her “Bossman” Mark. Sara has hidden secrets that are coming to the surface. She is worried that Chris will leave when they are revealed. But her secrets are not the only ones to be revealed in this thrilling erotic series.
We join Sara in the storage unit from the book IF I WERE YOU. Sara was looking for more clues and was stopped dead in her tracks by a pop. Chris, her Dark Knight in shining armor once came to the rescue. Many questions are answered but most of all we know who HE is. He, meaning Rebecca’s master to her submissive.
We are introduced to the true dark side of Chris and the vulnerability of Mark. I was surprised that we found out so much information about the characters. The author dug deep into the lives of all of them. Everyone had deep secrets. Some worse than others. Some secrets can be forgiven, others not so much. I enjoyed the fact that Sara really came into her own. She knew her boundaries and her boundaries are trust. Not only her trusting Chris but trusting herself to enjoy the pleasure in pain. This book will leave you satisfied, but wanting more. Just like Mark and Chris would have wanted. We are being punished by having to wait for the final installment of the series. A must read. This book was received for the purpose of an honest review.

“***If you have not read If I Were You you will need to go back and read it. Being me is not a stand alone book and in order to understand fully what is going on in the story you will need to go back and read book one and also the journals Vol 1-4 really help with the story as well.***
Let me start off by saying this I thought that If I Were You was a great book, Being Me was AMAZING! The story takes you more into the depth of the lives of the characters in the story. You watch as Sara begins to make a life for herself and really find who is she. Unlike with Rebecca and the journal entries in which she seems to lose more of herself as time goes by, Sara seems to be discovering who she is. I really went back and forth with my feelings towards both Chris and Mark. With Chris it was like one minute I loved him and the next I hated him but as you learn more about the demons of his past you begin to discover why he is the way that he is which leaves me wondering if he will ever be able to open himself up completely to Sara or if he will always keep the darker portion of himself hidden from the world. I loved Mark in this book I felt like I got to see some of his softer side he wasn't so much of the dominant male he was in the first book. Don't get me wrong he's all alpha male but there were moments when it was like he was a different person, which made me wonder throughout the book if he really had it in him to be "master" as it's so much implied. Which leads me back to the who is "master"? The other question I have is what role does Ava play in all of this. She seems to be a lot more hostile in this book and left me wondering if she had something to do with Rebecca's disappearance.
I really loved reading more about Chris and Sara in this book and what this book shows is that sometimes it's not the demons of your lover's past that you much work through sometimes it's the demons from your own past that will push your relationship to it's ultimate breaking point, it's not just what secrets Chris has but also what Sara is hiding as well. Believe me when you read it you'll know what I am talking about I sat in front of my computer for a good five minutes with my mouth hanging open unable to believe what had happened. Within the span of five chapters you will find yourself shaking your head in amazement. Am I going to spoil it for you? NOPE! You have to read this story it's full of twist and turns, lots of suspense, and plenty of HOTT sex! A great read that will keep you reading right straight through to the end and leave you wanting oh so much more!!! The wait for Revealing Us and the 5th journal will be soooo LONG I'm going to spend a long time relating future books I read to this book!”
