Mr. Sherlock Holmes is called in to solve the mystery of a ghostly hound which terrorizes the Baskerville family. This chilling case, set on the meloncholy moors of England, is a must-read for any mystery buff.

So far, so good. Just a tad bit confusing, but other than that it's okay. A great detective series of Sherlock Holmes, if you're a fan, then take a read.

Not the best book ever. But not the worst, it is hard to follow in some places. Yet interesting in some areas.

We had this book as syllabus in our tenth grade...and I used to love it like anything...a perfect thriller with a nice twist...and of course...I love the way Holmes deduces things from simple evidences...classic Doyle!

In anticipation of the new Sherlock Holmes movie coming out later this month, I wanted to take the opportunity to read one of Doyle's stories. I enjoyed this one tolerably well, but wasn't enamored of it. It seems that Holmes is an insufferable bore who is entirely full of himself. Watson seems to be rather a doormat and content to muddle along while Holmes shares the barest of information with him. Maybe it's just my impression from THIS story, but that's how it felt to me. I might pick up some more of the Holmes stories at some later date, but probably not any time soon.

Really interesting. It's good for people who want a mystery that we do't typically read. (It was published a long time ago . . .50 years?)
