“After what Perry has been through in the last book, On Demon Wings, she's ready to get on with her life. The problem is she can't stay where she is. Luckily, Dex shows up and offers her a way out that she can't refuse...for now.
Finally....finally, things are getting better. Perry moves to Seattle just as I hoped only not quite who I hoped with. You just know that when Dex and Perry get into these predicaments it will only lead to drama. Well, this time, things are different. Perry is different and so is Dex, aka Dex 2.0. One thing it does lead to a whole lot of sexual tension....phew!!
Perry and Dex have about a week together before they agree to rejoin the Experiment in Terror series only this time they decide to do a non ghost story. Why not tackle some Bigfoot sightings in Canada? Sure, that won't be scary or bloody or freezing camping in the snow at all! I do have to say that these are some pretty freakin' crazy Bigfoots! (Bigfeets? Bigfootians? LOL)
Perry and Dex have gotten smarter about things....another finally and they work really well together but the amazing part is them being together...just Perry and Dex. It was great seeing them grow and seeing Perry figure out what she wants. Dex makes up for a lot...he's already done a lot of changing and growing and he is determined to get Perry back. I was impressed with him several times. And I especially loved the tattoo.
I can hardly wait to read Come Alive and see where things go from here but first I'm going to enjoy more of Dex's POV in And With Madness Comes the Light.
Favorite quotes: (Slight spoilers!)
♥ “Hey I never saw a no-touching clause in the rules. Come back here.”
♦ “All right, Dex, quit it. You’re beating a dead horse.”
“I’m beating something horse-sized, that’s for sure.”
♥ “Perry, when I f*ck you, you’re going to want it. And you’re going to be sober. I don’t want just your body in all of this. I want everything. Your soul too.”
♥ “F*ck the show!” he said, throwing his arms out. “I don’t care about the damn show. I care about you and only you. You’re everything to me. Nothing else even comes close.”
♥ "I want to feel like this for the rest of my life."
♥ "You're the worst pizza delivery boy ever."
♥ “I love you Perry,” he whispered, mouth moving in my hair. “I love you so f*cking much. And I’m losing myself. I’m losing myself to you and I don’t care anymore because there’s never been a better feeling in the whole f*cking world. I love you. So much. Too much. Always.” ~sigh~”

Dex and Perry go camping !
I love it when these two camp, nothing is sexier. Now if that pest Big Foot would just go off into the woods and die and take psycho macho tag-a-long with him ! Something really cool happens to the psycho, you'll see. :)
Finally these two have to talk. After everything that happened in the last heart breaking book, I really needed some communication here. Yes, I am involved with these two butt heads too much. Don't judge. Okay, so their talking is as lame arse as they can push it. This girl can hold a grudge. I wanted somebody to wack her upside the head more than once but she'd probably get amnesia and forget everything. Where would that leave the relationship ? Things happen, big changes things, FINALLY ! I really don't need to get int to the story, just know that the ending is really frecking satisfying !”
“Aww, this was so good!
Into the Hollow picks up right where On Demon Wings left off and begins with a tough decision for our gal Perry Palomino. A decision I was silently squeeing over going "SAY YES, YOU NUMPTY!" It also shows us a side to Mr. Declan Foray we've never really seen before since he's always been in a relationship in the past. I think I rather like the free and single version of Dex. Again, SQUEE!
And there's not just the changes in Dex's behaviour to get used to, but you'll also recall he'd transformed a lot physically when he (eventually) showed up in On Demon Wings (he was all buff and stuff). And that's not the only difference we see in him over the course of this book.
If you'd asked me before I began Into the Hollow I'd have told you it wasn't possible for me to love Dex more than I already did, but it turns out that's total bumf because I found him even more irresistible in this book than ever before! He was just so patient but still determined, cheeky, badass, adorable, annoying and absolutely everything in between. I just love him!
The plot wasn't quite as creepy or scary this time but it was definitely action-packed and full of some great dramatic scenes (which I loved). In fact, I'd say this instalment was more Urban Fantasy than Horror—much like Red Fox was—and it was super duper fun and got the old adrenaline pumping nicely.
As well as dealing with the emotional fallout from the last couple of books, Dex and Perry are asked to investigate a potential "creature" sighting in the Canadian Rockies. But even with everything they've seen, they're unsure how much credence can they put in the testimony of one of its supposed victims, so the only solution is to go check it out for themselves.
There was also a moment or two of this book that made me very interested in things to come with regards to Dex and his past demons. Very interesting developments indeed.
My new favourite nickname for an animal (or vegetable, or mineral) ever has to go to Twatwaffle the llama. Pure unadulterated genius and my new favourite word of the week.
Sigh. Of course, the sad thing is now I've run out of books! I knew this would happen, obviously, but I didn't think it would feel quite this crappy. I've got the shakes, withdrawals, extreme lethargy (although I think I had that last one already) and just general uninterest in anything anybody whose name isn't Karina Halle has written. Ever.
What's a rabid fangirl to do?
