Jonetta (Ejaygirl) edited the summary of Highlander Claimed Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

    • Roses parents were both dead, her mother fairly recently and she was at the mercy of Laird Ogilvie. She's a servant within the clan and has done all she knows to avoid him and his attention. He finally accosts her in his chambers and attempts to rape her. Roses uses the small knife she's kept hidden on her body and injures the laird. She flees, taking a horse and supplies she's been stockpiling with her. She intends to travel until she reaches a clan where a woman from the Ogilvie clan now lives with her new husband. It didn't take long for Ogilvie's men to catch up with her but one, Ritchie, her friend, helps her get away. Now on foot, Roses comes upon the Mackenzie keep and finds a cave to rest in while she tries to find some food. She creates a ladder, scales the fence and gets some pears from their abundant orchard. As she's making her way back to the cave, a man emerges naked from the nearby lake and gives chase. Roses is in disguise as a man and he pulls his sword. They engage and he's startled when he finds out her gender but not before they both injure each other. He's injury is more severe and she takes him to her cave and cleans his wound. He's not getting better but sees her as an apparition and calls her Angel. Roses goes to the Mackenzie keep for help, bringing the Laird and his brother to rescue him. Wilkie refuses to be tended unless Roses stays with him and his obsession with her begins.

Roses is assigned to stay in Wilkie's antechamber because he won't allow otherwise. In fact, when everyone is gone, he has her stay in his bed. The next day, Roses tells the laird her story and they agree to let her stay for the time being. Things continue to heat up between Wilkie and Roses and their sensual love play goes pretty far without ultimate consummation. Wilkie's sisters befriend Roses and she helps their healer with the gardening and healing. The one day she's allowed to venture out in the orchards she is almost abducted by Ogilvie's men and is rescued by Wilkie. Security is stepped up at the keep but Roses faces another threat. Laird Morrison is expecting Wilkie to marry one if his daughters to form an alliance with the Mackenzies, who also need the alliance to stave off a threat to the King. King William has no heir except an illegitimate child of his mistress. The child was hidden and he's trying to find the heir so he has a progeny to pass on his legacy. Ogilvie and Laird Campbell, an enemy of the Mackenzies, are working to make claim to that legacy.

Roses also has a tattoo on her shoulder that she believes marks her as a witch so she works hard to keep it hidden. Wilkie wants to marry her but the Laird needs him to keep his word to Laird Morrison. He brings both Wilkie and Roses in to talk to him and makes it clear Wilkie has to marry Stella Morrison. Roses leaves, changes into the boys clothing she came there in and gathers her weapons. She leaves the keep and goes back to her cave. After weeks of being with the Mackenzies, she has learned what it means to have a family and is desperately in love with Wilkie and does not want to live without him. But, she knows he needs to do what's best for the clan. She disrobes of everything but her tunic, goes into the water and starts to cut her wrists. She stops for the moment and lies back in the water to reflect. Roses falls asleep and wakes to find herself surrounded by Ogilvie warriors. They attempt to take her and Wilkie and Kade enter the scene. One of the Ogilvie men let him know that Roses is coming back with them. The tattoo on her shoulder is the mark that identifies her as King William's child. Ogilvie saw it when he attempted to rape her. Now, he's going to force her to marry him, thereby being entitled to the legacy. Wilkie is forced to put down his weapons in order to save Roses from being raped. They take him prisoner while Kade races back for help.

The Ogilvie warriors and Roses and Wilkie (bound and injured) reach the clan keep. Wilkie is beaten and Ogilvie orders the minister to marry him and Roses. Wilkie is being beaten in front of her but screams at her to never give in. At the final moment, Roses refuses to say I do, Ogilvie punches her and orders his henchman to kill Wilkie. Two of the men in the room take their hoods off and kill the henchman. They are Roses' friends, Ritchie and Ronan, who then free Wilkie. Wilkie physically beats Ogilvie and then takes a sword and kills him. They race to leave the keep, gathering Ismay, the keep's healer and Roses' friend, with them. The men from Ogilvie and Campbell's escorts (he was visiting and conspiring) take chase and are gaining on them when the Mackenzie army appears suddenly, numbering in the 100s. Campbell and the Ogilvie clan retreat, accepting defeat. Wilkie's wounds are treated as they sleep overnight and then return to Kinloch, the Mackenzie keep.

What Roses didn't know was a few minutes after she had left the meeting with Laird Mackenzie and Wilkie, Kade had come in and announced that he and Laird Morrison reached an agreement for him to marry Stella. If Roses hadn't left, she would have discovered that she and Wilkie would have been married. The king is notified that Roses has been found and he comes to Kinloch just in time for Wilkie and Roses' wedding, which he ends up conducting. He acknowledges that Roses is his daughter and is the spitting image of her mother. Wilkie becomes the laird of Ossian Lochs and Ismay, Ritchie and Ronan join them.

Four months later, Roses discovers that she's pregnant.
