“Twice Cursed (Cursed by Blood, Book 2)” by Marianne Morea

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This full-length novel picks up right where the novella “Hunter’s Blood” left off. “Twice Cursed” is book two in the “Cursed by Blood” series and I think this story deserves 5 STARS just as book one did. Marianne Morea is a talented author that knows how to keep her readers interested. This adult story is a read that I would recommend to Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy fans everywhere.

All the action, emotions, romance, relationships, and betrayal were thrown at us right from the beginning of “Twice Cursed” and they stayed with us throughout the entire novel. It was great. The author did not skip a beat and it made my personal reading experience that much better. I loved the action in book two! Whether or not there was an actual physical fight occurring or a bunch of exciting events leading up to a battle – it was just thrilling. The mysteries of the “Cursed by Blood” series were revealed throughout the story, at what I considered perfect timing.

Once again, we read this book through Lily’s point of view. With that, we were able to experience her visions and telepathic thoughts. The author did such a good job when describing things that I actually felt like I could see, touch, smell, taste, and hear everything that was going on – especially Lily’s visions! However, with that being said, Ms. Morea did not over-describe situations to the point that it was too much; once again, it was just right.

Sean was seen less in “Twice Cursed” compared to “Hunter’s Blood” but when we saw him…boy did we see him! I love Sean, he is hot and the definition of an Alpha male. He has such passion for Lily that it makes for fun reading when they are together. It is also so sexy how Sean would do anything to protect Lily, but at the same time he respects the fact that she can handle herself. I just loved the characters of the “Cursed by Blood” series! Everybody played their roles well, from the hero and heroine to the villains and everyone in between. Marianne Morea did a great job at world-building and I definitely look forward to reading more of her work in the future. As I said, I would recommend “Twice Cursed” to adult readers who enjoy Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy.

Weres and cops and vamps, oh my! TWICE CURSED by Marianne Morea has GOT to be one of her best works!

Lily Saburi, a Psychic investigator returns, a little softer, a little happier, but still one tough gal hip deep in the supernatural world. Lily is brought in to assist the New York Police Department in discovering who is behind the vicious slaughters of some of its citizens with her special talents and not everyone is happy with that, particularly the detective she has to work with. Is there an attraction, or is it something else?

Lily's personal life is taking a turn for the better in the form of a HOT alpha wolf, Sean and she has come to terms with the loss of her best friend Terry, several months before. The new murders are gruesome and so similar to Terry's, there must be a connection. Vampires and Weres even join forces to find justice and save their people.

Written with grit and in-your-face style, Marianne Morea has created a three-dimensional world where you almost feel the need to duck when the knives are thrown! The action and twists barrel on through the entire story with an ending that ties it all together in a neat package. There were no hanging questions, if a point was raised, there was an answer. There is great attention to detail throughout the book, with every character, every scene!
