• Huguet: Perrin and Elinor's good young friend who is a joglar.
• Hugo: The cook in Sevigan.
• Lucatz: The leader of the troupe that Huguet and Perrin are in.
• Bertran: A man who Elinor loves a lot but he does not love her back. He is a believer.
• Alys: Alys is Elinor's younger sister and a good friend. Very petite, blond and lady like.
• Elinor: The main character. A gril who wishes she was a boy and didn't have womanly lady like duties.
• Lady Sevigan: Elinor's mother who wants her to marry against her will.

• Nicholas: Lady Isuet's servant who is more a friend to her than servant.
• Lord Berenger: A man eager to marry Lady Isuet but believes she loves Elinor because he was told Elinor was actually a male.
