I feel I somehow should've been required to read this in high school and then re-reading it as an adult, appreciated it more. Loved the author's use of short sentences and dialogue for characterization rather than lengthy descriptions. A little more sexuality than I would've expected for a story told by a nine year old, but I might chalk that up to a European author. I'd say more about the plot and/or characters, but don't think I could do so without spoiling. Fast-moving, excellent book.
